Performing Plays in Prison
The theater has a way of introducing you to your voice and in a place like prison, that can be really therapeutic.
For today's episode I am joined by former Oregon State Penitentiary theater instructor Phil Stockton and former standout student of the theater program Sterling Cunio. We cover everything from the process of creating a play in a place like prison to the success that came about from the groups exceptional performances.
You can find Sterling's latest work by checking out his website. Justice Arts Coalition is also mentioned a few times and is the reason I was able to connect with Phil and Sterling at the start of all of this. You can follow them on Instagram and check out their website. The other amazing organization mentioned in today's episode is Pen America. You can follow them on Instagram and also check out their website here as well.
And as always, if you have not already make sure you follow our Instagram account and subscribe to our website. Please also be sure to share today's episode with a friend, like and subscribe so you don't miss out on any new episodes!
